Snow Park at the Fair Annual Snow Stomp
Visitors are welcome to drop by the Snow Park to see how the giant snow blocks are created. An astonishing amount of activity is packed into these two days, involving a lot of heavy equipment. (For safety’s sake, visitors are asked to stay well clear of the activity and observe from a distance.) If you’d like to get closer to the action, volunteers are needed to help build the blocks. During this three-day competition, three-member teams transform 8' x 8' x 8' blocks of compacted snow into amazing works of art using only hand tools. Visitors are encouraged to come out to the Snow Park to watch sculptors at work during opening weekend (January 27-29). Finished sculptures remain on display for the duration of the Winter Carnival and are individually lit after dark for a truly special viewing and photography experience. Drive-Thru Ice & Snow Sculpture Park
