Rice Park is a winter wonderland throughout all of Saint Paul Winter Carnival.  It is free and open to the public.  Highlights include ice sculptures on display, sit in a Royal Throne made of ice, view the Ice Castle Sponsor Wall,  live entertainment on the Rice Park stage, vendor booths and other activities.

It is decorate with beautiful lights and greenery.

And, if you’re so inclined, enjoy a Summit beer or Cannon River wine at the ice bar!

The 2022 Multi-Block Ice Carving Competition starts Thursday, January 27 at 7 pm and ends Saturday, January 29 at 7 pm. Each team will be given 48 suspenseful hours and several blocks of ice to bring their frozen masterpieces to life. The Multi-Block Ice Carving Competition is guided by a strict set of rules, requiring artists to utilize their best creative thinking and remain incredibly attentive to all details. In progress and finished carvings may be viewed throughout the Winter Carnival. This signature Winter Carnival event returns as blocks of ice are transformed into beautiful masterpieces. Endless photo opportunities are available in Rice Park during the competition, as well as with the completed creations.
