It’s the first Carnival of the decade, so we are showcasing some great new events! We can’t wait for you to experience all the new events and activities we have planned, from kids’ snow activities, a mobile ice fishing competition, entertaining bingo, an international themed market, Olympic athletes, and SO MUCH MORE!
Ice Fishing Competition
January 1 at 8 a.m. until February 2 at 5 p.m.
This year, Winter Carnival organizers are bringing back the ice fishing contest with a modern hook. Anglers of all ages are encouraged to compete in the new month-long fishing tournament using the mobile app, FishDonkey. Big prizes are at the end of the line in the categories of: Largest Walleye; Largest Northern Pike; Shortest Fish; Stringer of 3 Fish (largest combo of any three crappie, bluegill, sunfish or perch); King of Winter (longest fish of any species not mentioned). Plus, one random contestant will catch the title of Winter Carnival Super Fan!

Saturday, January 25 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Kids of all ages can build their own royal fortresses using Create A Castle, a fantastic and fun collection of molds created to help families build snow (and sand!) castles. The Toy Association proclaimed it a finalist for the 2020 Toy of the Year!

Bring the little ones (ages 5 and under) for a fun and engaging environment to teach the basics of snowboarding.

Activities will include a fashion show and the chance to win Afton Alps lift tickets.

You’ve never played bingo like this “B4!” The evening’s hostesses will include Crystal Belle (National Showgirl at Large 2017), Onya Deek (Empress 27 of the Imperial Court of Minnesota), Nikki Vixxen (All American Goddess 2018), and Vanessa Taylor (former Miss Gay Iowa USA and former Miss Iowa Continental).
Team USA Journey Presented by OREO on Landmark Plaza.
Friday, January 31 4 – 9 p.m., Saturday, February 1 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., & Sunday, February 2 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This sweet traveling vehicle features interactive elements; completely immersing Team USA fans as they navigate four individual rooms inside the experience. It is truly a one-of-a-kind interactive social media experience. The journey was created to bring the Olympic Spirit to fans in advance of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo. Of course, the tour concludes with samples of free OREO cookies. This attraction is free and open to the public.
