It’s the most wonderful time of the year: the 134th Saint Paul Winter Carnival, the “Coolest Celebration on Earth” since 1886. The Winter Carnival continues to bring family-friendly events and community pride to Saint Paul and the Twin Cities metro area.
- Most events are FREE and open to the public.
- Events primarily take place in downtown Saint Paul, in and around the Landmark Center, as well as at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
- Enjoy live entertainment, walk through the ice sculpture garden, watch the ice carvers create frozen masterpieces, visit vendor booths, and more!
- Enjoy hot mulled wine, beer, and other beverages at the Ice Bars.
Watch the Twin Cities’ PBS original production of Minnesota Experience: The Legendary Saint Paul Winter Carnival. This documentary is rich with archival film and images, capturing Saint Paul throughout the Carnival’s 130+ year history. The Legendary Saint Paul Winter Carnival’s traditions of gathering Saint Paul’s neighborhoods to participate in ten days of winter sports, activities and parades, building elaborate ice palaces and crowning a fabled royal family have continued for generations.
Watch on TPT 2 on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 9 P.M. or on TPT Life on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 8 P.M.

We also have some board seats opening up this spring if you would like to be more involved. Men and women are both welcome. No need to have ever played a role or been part of Winter Carnival.
