Ask any Minnesotan when women’s hockey started and you’ll get a few different answers: maybe 1995, when the MSHSL sanctioned girls’ varsity hockey for high school. Or 1970, when Farmington started a youth program. A few people will say 1918, when women’s hockey first got a dedicated page in the Gopher yearbooks.
Come to the Around the World for Kids, Seniors & Families event and walk through this travelling display of at least 125 years of women playing ice hockey in Minnesota, from the early games at the turn of the century, to the University of Minnesota's 1915-1930s club years; from the booming youth leagues of the 1970s to the first Minnesota State High School League tournament in 1995; from the Minnesota Whitecaps to the Minnesota Frost.
